The Revelation of God

“Now the LORD descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.” Ex. 34:5-7.

“The highest science, the loftiest speculation, the mightiest philosophy which can ever engage the attention of a child of God, is the name, the nature, the person, the work, the doings, and the existence of the great God whom he calls his Father.” (Spurgeon)

May we walk, stand, and live in the revelation of our Fahter’s Glory, loving and obeying Him.

” but showing lovingkidness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” Ex. 20:6

Honoring Mother and Father

Honoring our parents may take different forms and ways as we grow together in life. I believe that my family is being called to honor my parents in and through prayer. To imitate Daniel in our prayers and engage in intercessory prayer for them.

1. Daniel’s prayer was the result of his study and obedience to Scripture; he found a promise of restoration-if the people repented of their sins. We can find a promise of good and long life, as we honor our parents.

2. Daniel’s prayer confessed and repented of his people’s sins-he was humble in approach not judgemental despite of his own personal innocence, he confessed to numerous sins as a member of God’s wayward people. We are all part of this family and therefore confess any and all sins that may hinder or stand in the way of God’s will.

3. Daniel fasted and prayed for the Lord’s will. He did not raise the possibility of restoration, despite God’s promise in the Law and prophecies. He asked only that the Lord would act on behalf of His own interests. Oh that we would humbly surrender all of our own desires and wishes even in the knowledge of God’s Word only to desire and trust His perfect will.

James 5:16 says “the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much”.

Let us then “honor mother and fahter” through our prayers.

So much going on; not enough time to talk about it. Well we’ve gone through the Flu attack and now hopefully that is over. Jennica was able to celebrate her birthday by going to San Diego and taking part of an 85Th birthday family reunion for her grandfather. We (me and the kids) survived the few days by eating out to much and staying up late!!! Winter seems to be taking a long time, or maybe it’s just me, nah!!!!! Anyway praying for daily wisdom in our attempt at balanced lives. Marriage, family, school, ministry, etc… in a proper balance seems to be our daily challenge. Pray!
